I'm currently eating two hard boiled eggs and a cup of frozen peach yogurt. Between running around getting ready to go to Venice, I thought I could slide in a nice quick blog post about yesterday.
Yesterday was a weird day. I was in a wacky and "don't care about anything right now" mood. Basically, I couldn't focus and I was completely uninspired by anything, so unlike me. It got to the point where I left photo two hours early, telling my professor I needed to go sit on my bed and re-evaluate my life. I ended up taking a nap and felt much more normal and happier when I awoke.
In the evening, it was my friend Madi's birthday dinner. Lucky her, we are celebrating her birthday all weekend in Venice. Our table was right next to the chef window, so we could watch the chef cook.

Free birthday appetizer! Yummy bread with warm tomato sauce. |
 |
Pretty table setting |

While waiting for our food, Madi and I decided to visit the chef window |

Hello! Only three chefs worked in the kitchen (there was another employee helping each of them out). It was such a beautiful dynamic system and the kitchen was intelligently designed. It was awesome watching the chefs fly around like butterflies at the same time attempting to pose for me. |
 |
They were moving so fast, I could feel the energy of the kitchen's atmosphere. I almost felt my camera wouldn't be fast enough to catch the action. |
 |
Yea he was cute. The pasta chef (in the black) was the more charismatic one, and came out to our table several times. |
 |
Glimpse behind the corner |
 |
The head chef started clapping loudly after all the dishes he was preparing were finished |

Mine: Garganelli con melanzane e fior di latte (penne pasta with roasted eggplants, red onions, chopped tomatoes, and mozzarella) |
 |
Jordan's veggie calamari. It actually was my favorite food of the meal. |
 |
Gorgeous chocolate cake |
 |
Unfortunately, because of my budget I did not get any dessert. Julia saintly sacrificed two bites of her chocolate cake for me and it was delicious. |

What ya looking at |

Midway from Julia's place and mine sits the lovely Duomo
I am going to go finish packing so ciao for now. |
Bella you have the BEST!! blogs. I love this entry. You are now becoming so comfortable with the Italian ways and the art of eating. I love the food shots and of course the pictures from the kitchen are fabulous honey. It does give the reader a sense of the smells and movement of the lifestyle in Italy.
